Sliding Door Hardware Systems

Given the challenges of hardware malfunctions, Sugatsune developed an all-new, no-headache pocket door hardware system that eliminates the need to break open a pocket if adjustments or a door replacement are required. This makes it far easier to attend to the above defects should they arise. Moreover, our sliding door kits are easy to install and are cycle-tested to ensure durability. Therefore, although we make fixing your pocket door or sliding door easy, it may take several years before you have any issues with our hardware.

Many of our systems boast premium features, such as the two-way soft-close, which provides users with a safe and luxurious experience that lasts for years. We also offer heavy-duty systems that provide a smooth and gentle feel when operating oversized, heavier doors. Choose Sugatsune sliding door hardware for your next project and experience unique design, precision engineering, and unparalleled quality.

Our hardware components include tracks, rollers, sliding door bottom guides, v-rails, stoppers, end covers, brackets, and dampers. Each element is crafted for precision, ensuring smooth operation and minimizing wear and tear. The hardware is compatible with various door materials, including glass, wood, and metal. Synchronized Sliding Pocket Door Hardware

Using its patented self-close technology, Sugatsune created an advanced, precision-engineered, synchronized sliding door hardware system that allows two hanging doors to meet in the middle. Opening or closing one pocket door will smoothly and quietly move the second door with minimum effort. Our innovative design features double-concealed, heavy-duty, sliding door top track hardware and clear threshold-concealed bottom guides. These ensure smooth, synchronized, bi-parting opening and closing of wood or glass door panels.

Sugatsune also creates innovative bi-folding door hardware, systems, hinges, and hardware for conventional doors. Our bi-folding door hardware systems offer smooth, space-saving solutions ideal for compact or high-traffic areas, combining sleek design with durability. Our traditional door hinges and hardware prioritize precision and reliability, catering to residential and commercial needs. Like our sliding and pocket door hinges, many feature our patented soft-close or self-close technology, ensuring enhanced functionality, safety, and user convenience.

Standard Hardware Sizes

Sugatsune focuses on creating solutions that allow builders to continue inventing new products that improve the quality of life. As a result, we offer hardware that enables you to create doors of custom sizes and weights within reasonable limits.

Although our systems have no strict height limitations, we provide hardware that supports up to 275 lbs for heavy-duty setups and 600 kg for super heavy-duty requirements. For most sliding doors weighing 200 lbs and below, our systems support a maximum height of 2,700 mm and a minimum thickness of 27–34 mm. Our FD30 Series door hardware is an excellent choice for such applications, ideal for sliding doors with panels up to 200 lbs.

For standard doors weighing under 275 lbs, our HAWA Junior Series offers reliable operation with dimensions suitable for both residential and commercial projects. Our MFU-1200 Series accommodates weights of up to 600 kg, making it ideal for heavy-duty applications, such as large industrial sliding doors. Frequently Asked Questions

What are the design advantages of utilizing the Monoflat Unison™?

This system is designed to open by pushing the door inward with a sideways motion, revealing what was essentially hidden. When closed, the doors soft-close while pulling forward to align flush with the adjacent wall or door. The doors are hung on with brackets that attach to a track above, eliminating any need for a lower track or threshold. Guide pins to prevent the door from racking are concealed out of the way, creating an uninterrupted flooring transition between spaces. This design is ideal for minimalist aesthetics and universal design principles. It also enhances safety by removing potential tripping hazards and simplifies floor cleaning and maintenance.

This configuration enables the system to achieve a perfectly flush appearance against surrounding walls when closed, supporting seamless architectural integration for features such as hidden rooms or walk-in closets, where uninterrupted surfaces and clean lines are paramount. Such systems are particularly effective for creating ‘invisible’ door effects or maximizing usable floor area in constrained spaces.

Can I retrofit an existing door with the MFU1200 Monoflat Unison system?

Theoretically, you can retrofit an existing opening; however, you will need to remove all the casing and trim pieces to access the rough opening for installation of this system. Because of the design of the tracks required for the roller carriage to pull the door forward when closing, the MFU1200 requires a header that is at least 7-⅞” (200mm) in depth. We recommend consulting with your architect or structural engineer before installing or contacting our technical team at 800-562-6267 between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM CST.

After installing a pocket door system, can I change the door or adjust the hardware?

For most pocket door systems on the market, you would have to break open the pocket to change a door or adjust many of the hardware components. Sugatsune, however, developed their FD pocket door systems as a 2-track system, which allows you to access all of the hardware components without having to break open a finished pocket. You will need to access the part of the track that is attached to the header jamb in the door opening space, requiring the removal of the header trim. Then, remove the track so that you can maneuver the door out of the pocket and off the roller carriage. Once the door is off, you can remove the roller carriage if any adjustments or maintenance are required. Then, follow the installation instructions to rehang your new door.
