The ALT-ST Series Pocket Door System is a classy way to keep cabinet and utility doors out of the way and out of sight when they’re open.

We’ve designed the ALT-ST Series to be convenient, approachable, and appealing both from the property developer’s point of view and the user’s. Pocket door adjustments, installation, and door alignment are all easy and straightforward, as is opening and closing the doors on a daily basis.

This is one of our more innovative Cabinet Door Systems. It’s that special attention to the combination of form and function that makes Sugatsune America hardware so distinctive. The ALT-ST system is:

• Aesthetic: The cabinet, storage space, or utility area becomes a natural extension of the room, with a clean, inset appearance.
• Functional: The user has full access to the storage or utility space.
• Convenient: Installation, adjustments, and daily use are simple and easy.

Applications & Configurations

This door hardware is well suited to a variety of applications, including:

The ALT-ST hardware can be used individually to support a single pocket door, or in pairs to support left-hand and right-hand double doors.

We offer a variety of different model sizes in the series to match various doors (see below), making the ALT-ST a potential solution for many types of environments ranging from upscale home kitchens to multi-family apartments, hotels, and multipurpose rooms. And because the pocket door adjustments are so easy to make whenever needed, this hardware has no special professional maintenance requirements.

Easy to Open and Close

To open doors using the ALT-ST system, the doors first swing open as a traditional cabinet or closet door would. Then, once they are completely open (i.e., are parallel to each other), they are then pushed to recess into their pockets on either side of the cabinet or storage space. This is distinct from most pocket doors, which slide into the wall to the left or right.

To close the doors, they first pull out of their recessed pockets (like drawers) and then swing closed like traditional doors. Best of all, it features the world’s only 5-speed adjustable soft-closing damper that eliminates unwanted slamming noises when the doors close.

Model Selection & Key Features

The ALT-ST Series Pocket Door System comes in two main configurations:

• ALT-ST15-D360: The damper hinges can be replaced with catch hinges if desired. The system fittings allow for the doors to retract further into the cabinet than is the case with the ALT-ST20-D360.

Both variants come in four different sizes (see below), and both variants offer the following features in common:

The ALT-ST Series makes pocket door adjustments easy, both to get the proper positioning during installation and to correct door sagging or other alignment issues after a period of use.
