Our Black Aluminum Handle SYH-224BL-M5 Fasteners
Sugatsune America is one of the top hardware manufacturers, thanks in no small part to our strong reputation for precision-engineered hardware designed for consistent performance across architectural and industrial applications.
That expert craftsmanship is evident in our aluminum handle (SYH-224BL-M5). Weighing only 105 grams, this tubular handle is made of high-quality aluminum and has a total length of 264 mm. The extruded aluminum alloy construction with a black finish provides surface durability in high-use environments, while featuring a silver ion coating for additional benefits. Engineered as our Beauty and Toughness series for industrial applications, this tubular aluminum handle delivers reliable performance without sacrificing elegant designs so that it can be used in architectural applications as well.
Despite its lightweight design, the SYH-224BL-M5 aluminum handle features a load capacity of 112.4 lbs. This particular version uses M5 fasteners. The larger M5 fastener size supports more demanding load requirements and provides increased stability in heavy-use applications.
The SYH-224BL-M5 aluminum handle is perfect for use in restaurants and other industrial projects where sanitation is crucial. This handle is suitable for commercial interiors, food-service equipment, medical casework, and industrial access panels where durability and clean integration are required. Its streamlined form supports clean, linear integration across architectural and industrial applications. The handle is designed to maintain structural integrity under repeated use, making it suitable for high-cycle environments.
An Aluminum Handle Built with Beauty and Strength In Mind
Often, when projects require strong, durable handles, they have to sacrifice beauty. That’s not the case with the SYH-224BL-M5 aluminum handle.
Built from aluminum, this tubular handle is lightweight and durable, capable of withstanding frequent use, even in high-stress environments. Additionally, Sugatsune has crafted the SYH-224BL-M5 aluminum handle with a straight-edged design to support consistent design integration across machinery, millwork, and equipment enclosures.

FAQs
What is the difference between aluminum handles with M4 fasteners versus M5?
While there is no functional distinction between the M4 and M5 varieties of aluminum bar pulls, the only physical difference is which fastener is used for each.
M4 and M5 fasteners differ in their diameter. While both are strong, durable options, M5 fasteners are typically used for more heavy-duty situations where strength is key. M4 is often the choice for medium-duty applications.
Is this aluminum handle NSF-certified?
No, our SYH series of aluminum handles is not NSF-certified. However, Sugatsune offers a wide range of handles that are NSF-certified, so contact one of our Inside Sales teams to find the right handle that meets your needs.
Why is aluminum the superior material choice for this handle?
Sugatsune has chosen aluminum alloy for this series of handles for several reasons. Aluminum is a great option for its strength-to-weight ratio.
This metal is incredibly strong and durable, and because of the intended industrial applications, we applied a silver ion coating to it for an added protection value.
However, this strength comes with a weight advantage: aluminum is extremely lightweight, making the door easier to open and close. Additionally, aluminum handles are known for exceptional corrosion resistance.
What mounting considerations should be accounted for when specifying this handle?
This aluminum handle is designed with a rear- mounted screw installation using M5 fasteners. Ensure compatibility with panel thickness, substrate material, and load requirements to maintain performance and long-term stability. Most importantly, note the center-to-center measurement which is 8-13/16” or 224 mm for this particular model. Sugatsune also has a version with a 5-1/16” or 128mm center to center available in this design.
