Step 1.

For accurate and easy shelf installation, measure the distance from the floor to the intended position of the underside of the table or shelf that you plan to support using the 388 Series Folding Bracket.

Note: These heavy-duty folding wall shelf brackets can support a decent amount of weight, but remember that the weight of the table/shelf itself will count against the total load capacity. Do not overload the shelves.

Step 2.

Calculate where the holes for the hinge and the collapsible support should be. For more information on how to install heavy-duty folding shelf brackets precisely, refer to Measurement “C” in the measurement table found in your folding wall bracket installation guide.

Step 3.

Screw the hinge and the collapsible support for each bracket into the wall.

Note: Make sure you select screws or wall plugs suitable for the intended load. While our 388 Series heavy-duty folding shelf brackets will support loads from 77 lbs to 176 lbs. Depending on the particular model, if your screws or plugs are too weak, this could make the true load capacity much lower and pose a safety hazard.

For safe and easy shelf installation, make sure you use sufficiently strong screws and plugs.

Step 4.

Mount the table/shelf onto the heavy-duty folding shelf brackets.

Note: When thinking about how to install heavy-duty folding shelf brackets safely, please remember to leave some space between the wall and the table / shelf, as this clearance is required when lifting the table/shelf slightly during the release of each folding wall bracket into its “closed” position.

Leave a small amount of space between the wall and the shelf, as this will be needed when lifting the shelf into place.

Step 5.

Mark out two holes for each collapsible support. Refer to Measurement “B” in your installation guide for easy shelf installation.

Loosely attach the collapsible support to the table/shelf with two screws.

Note: Do not tighten the screws at this time! The shelf angle still has to be adjusted in the next step.

Step 7.

Adjust the angle of the table/shelf, then tighten the screws to fully secure it to the collapsible support.

Adjust the shelf angle to ensure your desired levelness, then tighten the screws into their final, fully installed positions.

Step 8.

When the table/shelf is in the correct position, fully tighten the last two screws to secure the collapsible support into place.

Once the screws are fully tightened, you can load the shelf.

How to Open Your 388 Folding Wall Bracket

The 388 Series of heavy-duty folding shelf brackets is self-locking. Simply raise the table / shelf, and the apparatus will click into place.

How to Close Your 388 Folding Wall Bracket

  1. Apply light upward pressure on the table / shelf to remove the load from the collapsible support.
  2. Depress the black button on the support to release its lock.
  3. Lower the table / shelf carefully, and secure as desired with additional hardware (not included).

To fold the 388 Series wall bracket, press the black button on the support to release the lock and carefully lower the shelf.
